Editing Photos on Site Pages
How To Set A Featured Image
To set a featured image for a post or page, follow the instructions in this video:
How do I create or edit a gallery on my website?
Galleries are created similarly to how we add images to a posts or a page.
Create
When editing/creating a posts/page you can create a gallery simply by clicking the “Add Media” button. In the pop up window click the “Create Gallery” link on the left. You can now upload images or choose images that have been previously uploaded to your site. Once the images you want in the gallery are all selected click the “Create a new gallery” button on the bottom right.
On the next screen you can change the order of the images by dragging and dropping or by clicking the “Reverse order” at the top of the screen. The options on the right are not usually needed and can be left set to default (If your galleries are in a mosaic or pinterest style gallery look below for additional instructions). Once the order is set you can click the “Insert Gallery” button on the bottom right.
Pinterest Style
If your galleries are in the Pinterest or Mosaic style you will need to do a couple more things before saving the galleries. In the “Galler Settings” area on the right side of the gallery popup you will need to change the “Link To” option to “Media File” and the “Type” option to “Tiled Mosaic”
Edit
To edit a previously created gallery, navigate to the page/post where the gallery is and click on one of the thumbnail images in the editor. You can now click the edit icon (pencil) that pops up and proceed to edit the gallery by adding new images or changing the order of the images.
Last But Not Least
If your site has multiple galleries in a parent – child format meaning your site structure is something like the following
Home
Gallery
— Gallery 1
— Gallery 2.
You will need to make some changes in the “Page Attributes” section of the Page Edit screen. In the right hand column below the Publish Section is a section Titled “Page Attributes”. In this section is two dropdowns. The Parent Dropdown should be set to the page you would like as the current galleries parent. In the Example above “Gallery 1” has a parent page of “Gallery”. Doing this is what creates the correct URL structure as well as allows the Gallery page to list out all of its children galleries. The last step is to change the “Template” dropdown to “Gallery”. This allows linking this page to all the other galleries that have the same parent page as the current gallery.
